Pollutants

Sewage
Discharge of sewage to water will no longer be an option once the barrage is in place, since it owuld tend to produce eutrophication and algal blooms. Alternative methods will have to be used, such as anaerobid digestion, which is actually a better method of dealing with sewage, since it produces energy (sewage gas) and land fertiliser.

Biodegradeable chemicals only will be allowed to be discharged to drain in the Severn catchment area.

Radionuclide discharges from nuclear power stations will have to cease. This is in fact an advantage, since it will entail a complete clean up of the area.

Zero Emission policies will obtain in the Severn catchment area
